Character Development

September 1, 2011
When I create main characters, I start by outlining who the character is and what the strengths and weaknesses that character has.  The outline also includes what the character looks like, clothes (if any) he/she wears and general demeanor.  After I’ve done that , I link them together based on their relationship and how they affect each other.
There are some characters that I don’t follow the above as I consider them expendables, so they are created as I am writing.  Most of the time, I don’t go back and revise the expendables…much.
